Voices from the shoreline

A new book by author Mike Smylie . Mike has traveled all around our coastline visiting and interacting with what remains of traditional salmon fisheries.

A fascinating read and our fishery is included . A common thread which runs through the book is the feeling that traditional fishermen are being targeted by the authority's that oversee these fisheries be it England ,Wales or Scotland..........an agenda of clearance perhaps ???

What is very clear is that closure of these fisheries made little difference to salmon stock on our rivers and reasons for this are now becoming apparent as the general public are now taking a greater interest in what is really happening on the river under the watch of our "river guardians "

Then again the great get out will be good old global warming . LOL. What a job !
