Heroes every one.

40 years ago today the lifeboat Solomon Browne launched from Penlee Cornwall into hurricane force winds setting out to rescue the crew of the Ship Union star which had lost power and was being driven on to the Cornish rocks by the sea and wind.

After several attempts to remove the crew from the doomed ship the lifeboat and all on board were themselves overcome by the terrible seas............Tragically all were lost.

Selfless bravery which will never be forgotten & puts lots of things happening in this world into perspective.
