Equal regulation..............

One would expect regulation of fisheries to be equal between Angling and Traditional fisheries exploiting a resource........... ie Salmon.

Back in the day it certainly appeared that this was the case.

However as time went by something changed . It seems to us there was and still is a drive to remove completely any remaining traditional fisheries from our rivers and estuary's leaving just an angling effort.

Comparing regulation of both fisheries seasons to begin with . The season for trout & salmon angling on the river Severn begins on the 1st of February and continues until the 7th of October . Black rock lave net fisheries season on the Severn estuary begins on 1st June and ends on 31st August. ( pre 1999 start was 2nd Feb ) .

Are we second class citizens ?
