As the remaining salmon struggle
Apparently anglers have now been asked to stop fishing for salmon on our local rivers due to high water temps.......with little water , no flow & little rain salmon would not be moving and feeding anyway , good press though.
Is it not about time that the angling season was shortened as was the traditional fishing season to protect the remaining stock ? Perhaps for a ten year period ?
Salmon are struggling to survive in our local rivers so why would anyone want to fish for them when they are stale and red...........
February - Mid october.......is the current season . Perhaps it should be reduced for 10 years to Feb - June to give these fish a chance after all an unlimited number of anglers are able to catch an unlimited amount of salmon on our local rivers , yes apparently throwing them back but indirectly killing a percentage for their sport .
If every salmon matters why would this still be permitted.
