An archaeology lesson !

It was a pleasure to catch up with professor Martin Bell of Redding university during the week guiding him and his colleague Tom around some of our low tide Severn estuary finds.

Martin has made many low tide finds himself around the Goldcliff area .

This fishing trap / basket if contempary with others found in the area would be 12th century.

A sample was taken but carbon dating costs £400............

There was a huge fishing effort in this area for white fish & salmon which has disappeared completely.
