A perfect storm

Low river conditions are compounding existing issues on the river Wye (and probably the Usk ) See save the Wye and save the Usk FB pages for details .

Our recent Kayak trips on the river Wye have been heart-breaking . Many dead and dying salmon sighted topped off by this beauty of over 16lb

They are generally hard to spot as they sink to the river bed after a short while so there would be many more than the dozens we spotted on our short trips.

Was there any detailed plan to deal with this situation . doubt it very much .
