A 20 year old permit............

A recent communication from the E.A. regarding the Sewerage treatment plant on the river Wye at Monmouth states that the parameters of the permit were set TWENTY YEARS AGO and that if this was a new plant the parameters would be much stricter ...........We filmed this discharge in drought conditions with dead and dying salmon down steam and people swimming in the river.......... This plant would discharge 24 / 7 .

Can't really make it up can you. Triple S I..........rolls off the tongue real nice doesn't it .........

No doubt in the coming months there will be a commentary on the dead salmon and many excuses for what has happened this summer and little proactive action .Little wonder closure of all traditional salmon fisheries on the Severn estuary made little difference to stocks on our rivers if this is the norm .
