Down to " the levels "

It's that time of year again for harvesting willow "Reams " , arms for the lave net down on the caldicot Levels .

The pollarded trees grow close to the many "Reens " which drain the land . Winter time the sap is down and this is the best time to take the branches from the top of the tree.

The bark is stripped and Reams left to dry in our net house ready for net frame repairs.
