A centenary season !
2020 will be Black rock lave net heritage fishery's CENTENARY SEASON !
100 years ago local men returned from service in the 1st world war to find that their fishing rights had been taken..........They formed an organised group for the first time to fight to regain these rights......
They were successful and every year since our lave net fishermen have fished carrying on a tradition that stretches back into the mists of time.
The fishery has evolved to meet the changing times and become what people see today , what many regard as a model " Heritage fishery "
Two of our present members are related to one of the original group !
We have many initiatives planned for the year but added suggestions would be welcome !
