For 20 years we have published a "Pro active measures " sheet . Always put on the board outside our net house.
Why we haven't put it on here of anywhere else is perhaps an oversight on our part.
It makes interesting reading and documents our recent histoy .
The aftermath of storm Dennis gave martin an opertunity to get some practice in on our Coracle .
The fields of the Neddern are still flooded and it was surreal seeing a coracle paddled around the Caldicot castle !

After storm Dennis the fields of the old Neddern river ,long drained have become a huge lake..........
This is a rare event , our fishermen teamed up with the Sudbrook kayakers to paddle all the way from caldicot castle to Caerwent ,a surreal experience.

Paul , our chairman and Rob busy at work stripping willow reams for our net repairs. The coming season is close now and all the lave nets have to be checked and repaired as required.
The willow / withy has been cut when the sap is down.

Our fishermen welcomed BBC Countryfile director Kath to our fishery last week .
Kath was very interested in our fishery ,it's heritage ,traditions and the materials we use to make the net.

A couple of months ago our fishermen were down to the "levels " that back the estuary looking for potential "Ream" for our nets .
