The spring tide we had been waiting for arrived with the wind and rain and stopped us fishing the "best places " which match these tides. This happens sometimes and its not unusual to loose a months fishing to the weather....... That said Richard Morgan kept trying and winkled out a 10 lber in the Gut. Total for two months fishing now up to five fish, disappointing considering the number of fish sighted during the season on the estuary. No fishing now until 7th Aug. due to n
Spring tides arrived with the weather as per usual. No chance of seeing a fish with wind and rain. Martin and Tim back from Norway to up the effort .The weather far better in Lofoten than Black Rock !! Still only on 4 ,unbelievable considering the amount of fish seen.
At the last the Springs and weather combined to make give us a good chance of a few fish. The set of tides ended with Two ,one for Rob Evans and one for Paul Watkins , just reward for all our hard work . Fish seen on every tide so there are plenty around which seems to be the trend over the last several years. A couple of early morning breakfasts were managed at our net house , lovely ! No fishing now until 24th July.............. due to the 2 weekends and neap tides . .....W
Not able to lave net on the weekend by law . Calm weather so a trip to Denny island planned. What a place ,fierce tides around the base and danger rocks. Landed and a quick look around .A cannon ball found just like the ones on the Black Bedwins within our fishing grounds .
With no fishing until the 6th july due to the neap tides three of the boy were out doing a spot of rod fishing on their kayaks and keeping an eye on the fishing grounds. The first months catch was somewhat disappointing with only two fish taken. Salmon were seen every tide so there are lots around at the moment ,lets hope they hang around for the next set of tides, the weather stays calm and we have better luck !
