The river Towy this time a 7 km stretch of the Afon Dulas ..........A major incident killing a significant number of fish & invertebrates . If the bodies that manage our rivers were businesses they would have all been sacked long ago .
When a salmon is caught in a lave net we dispatch the fish quickly and cleanly . We take an agreed minimal catch ( based on the mortality rate of Rod & line fishing ) which preserves the existence of our fishery ,cultural heritage and way of life .
Matthew caught the first fish of the season yesterday just west of the bridge in "The Hole " . This was Matt's first fish in four seasons..... we are now in the second month of our season and have seen good numbers of fish on the estuary ,missing a few !
